Although the paper must be at least 800 words long, this is a minimal amount and you may need to write more in order to get your points across satisfactorily (longer papers are encouraged!).
In the first half of your paper, in your own words summarize the authors main points/arguments. Next, you will interpret these points: in essence, explaining why you think all this is important. Feel free to advance your own well-reasoned viewpoint as well.
Also, try to include a thesis statement (best placed at the end of your introductory paragraph) that sums up your entire paper.
